The Empire State Building is a tall 102-story Art Deco skyscraper in Midtown Manhattan in New York City, United States. It was created in the style of Shreve, Lamb & Harmon and was constructed from 1930 until 1931. The name comes from “Empire State,” the name of New York State. New York. The Empire State Building stood as the tallest structure in the world before it became the World Trade Center in 1970. The location for the Empire State Building in Midtown South on the west side of Fifth Avenue between West 33rd and 34th Streets was developed in 1893 by the Waldorf Astoria Hotel. In 1929, Empire State Inc. bought the land and designed an idea for a skyscraper. The plan to build Empire State Building was changed 15 times before it was declared the tallest building. The construction began in March of 1930, and the building officially opened 13 and a half years following on May 1, 1931. This building’s Art Deco architecture, height, and observation decks have made it a cult attraction. About four million visitors from all over the world visit the 86th and 102nd-floor observatories. An additional observatory located on the 80th floor was opened in 2019. The Empire State Building is an American iconic cultural landmark: it has been the subject of more than 250 films and TV shows since King Kong came out in 1933. The Empire State Building’s size has been a global standard for describing the length and height of all other buildings. The emblem for New York City has been designated one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World by the American Society of Civil Engineers.
